Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa held discussions with an IMF delegation on Sri Lanka’s current economic situation and outlook beyond the existing IMF programme.

The talks focused on the EFF programme, which is scheduled to conclude in March 2027, as well as foreign exchange reserves, debt sustainability, fiscal policy, economic growth and external financing.

Premadasa stressed the need for economic adjustments while considering the impact on working people, vulnerable households and MSMEs.
