The Ministry of Justice and National Integration has officially issued an extraordinary gazette notification to establish a new prison in Welisara.

The notification was issued by Minister of Justice and National Integration, Harshana Nanayakkara, under the authority granted to him by Section 2 of the Prisons Ordinance (Chapter 54).
