Police authorities have brought back 14 suspects to Sri Lanka without the use of Interpol Red Notices, revealed Police Media Spokesperson Assistant Superintendent of Police F. U. Wootler.
Among those returned today (27) is alleged drug trafficker and criminal Arumahandi Janith Madhusankha de Silva, aka “Podi Lassie.”
Since 2024, a total of 29 suspects with Interpol Red Notices have been repatriated, while an additional 14 individuals, including “Podi Lassie,” have been brought back through direct diplomatic and law enforcement cooperation, without Red Notices.
Efforts continue to locate and extradite more suspects connected to organized crime, with 89 Red Notices currently active.
