A major initiative to upgrade 25 selected bus depots under the Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) is set to commence today, under the guidance of the Ministry of Transport.

The project is designed to strengthen the SLTB's financial and operational performance while improving service quality and efficiency. 

According to the Ministry, the plan will also revitalize neglected rural transport services by introducing new revenue streams and implementing performance-based systems for staff.
