The Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) stated that fuel restrictions are creating difficulties for doctors and frontline health workers in maintaining essential services.

The GMOA noted that authorities have not responded to repeated proposals and requests to resolve longstanding health service issues.

The association has requested immediate transport solutions from President Ranil Wickremesinghe and will hold an emergency central committee meeting on 17 March to discuss primary healthcare issues and future union actions.
