Deputy Defence Minister Aruna Jayasekera stated that national security has been maintained at the highest level since the current government assumed office.

He said recent public security concerns have been addressed and that the government is acting in line with the Constitution.

Jayasekera also stated that the NPP's media spokesperson will clarify issues relating to the appointment of the Commissioner General of Prisons and the proposed re-establishment of Bogambara Prison.
