Minister Chandana Abeyrathne stated that a complaint has been lodged with the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) over a cyberattack on the Ministry of Public Administration’s official website.

The complaint was filed through the Ministry Secretary, he noted.

The Minister stated that no highly sensitive data was compromised and only general public information appears to have been accessed.

He noted that the CID has launched an investigation, while the Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Readiness Team (SLCERT) is conducting a separate technical inquiry.

SLCERT also stated it is probing the USD 2.5 million cyber incident linked to the Finance Ministry.
