Abdul Razak Mohamed Basik, the father of alleged drug trafficker Shiran Basik, has been remanded until 25 September.
The order was issued after he was produced before Colombo Hulftsdorp (Aluthkade) Magistrate’s Court No. 3 today (12).
He was arrested by the Central Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB) yesterday (11) under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
The arrest is linked to an investigation into the purchase of a luxury apartment in Gampaha, valued at around Rs. 30 million and registered in his name. The property was allegedly bought using funds earned by Shiran Basik through drug trafficking.
