Brett Maclean, 63, a British national visiting Sri Lanka with his daughter to celebrate her 34th birthday, died suddenly while hiking at Ella Rock on 25 October. 

The father collapsed at the mountaintop and was pronounced dead at Bandarawela Hospital.

A magisterial inquiry has been ordered, and the body was sent to Badulla Teaching Hospital for a post-mortem. 

The investigation is being conducted by Badulla and Ella police under senior supervision.
