President Anura Kumara Dissanayake departed the US on September 25, following the UNGA, for an official visit to Japan from 27 to 30 September at the invitation of the Japanese Government.
The core purpose of the trip is to deepen bilateral cooperation, with the President scheduled to meet His Majesty the Emperor of Japan and hold a summit meeting with the Japanese Prime Minister.
His itinerary also includes addressing a Business Forum in Tokyo to attract Japanese investment and attending "EXPO 2025 Osaka" for Sri Lanka Day.
He is accompanied by Foreign Minister Affairs Vijitha Herath.
