The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the processing of paddy stocks purchased by the Paddy Marketing Board during the last Yala season using Rs. 6,000 million allocated in 2025.
The paddy, currently stored in board warehouses, will be milled by registered paddy mill owners and distributed to the market through the Lak Sathosa and cooperative network.
The move, approved jointly by the Ministers of Agriculture, Livestock, Land and Irrigation and Trade, Commerce, Food Security and Cooperative Development, aims to ensure timely availability of rice to consumers.
