Police have arrested the suspected gunman involved in the shooting of the caretaker of the Nisala Sevana Public Cemetery in Dehiwala-Mount Lavinia.

Police said the suspect was arrested following the earlier arrest of a 25-year-old motorcycle rider allegedly involved in the July 19 shooting. The rider was found with 7.2g of ‘Ice’.

Investigators allege the shooting was carried out on the instructions of an organised criminal living overseas, for a payment of Rs. 200,000.
