The Ministry of Education (MOE) has decided not to extend school hours for the 2026 academic year, reversing a previous proposal to lengthen the school day by 30 minutes. 

The decision comes after considering the severe damage to school infrastructure and transport networks in several provinces following recent natural disasters.
