The Irrigation Department has withdrawn flood warnings issued for several major river basins after water levels returned to normal.

Accordingly, warnings for the Mahaweli River, Kuda Ganga sub-basin of the Kalu River, Nilwala River and Gin River have been lifted.

The Irrigation Department stated that rainfall and river water levels continue to be monitored, with arrangements in place to issue early warnings if flooding risks arise again.
