A man has been assaulted and murdered in Kebellegoda, Horana, Police said yesterday (7).

According to preliminary investigations, the incident occurred following an argument that escalated while the victim was consuming alcohol at a neighboring house.

It is reported that the resident of that house assaulted the victim with a weapon, resulting in his death.The deceased has been identified as a 66-year-old resident of Horana.

Horana Police are conducting further investigations in order to apprehend the suspect.
