The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL) will soon prohibit the use of unregistered communication devices to curb illegal imports. 

TRCSL Director General, Air Vice Marshal (Retd) Bandula Herath, announced plans for an automated system to be introduced by month-end, ensuring current devices and foreign phones remain unaffected. 

The initiative aims to protect consumers from substandard devices and educate the public on proper standards.
