Speaker Jagath Wickramaratne announced that today’s (01) Committee Stage budget debate will conclude at 12:30 p.m. due to the prevailing disaster situation in the country.

Parliament, which convened at 9:00 a.m., was briefly adjourned for 30 minutes as the Speaker assessed whether proceedings should continue given the severe weather conditions.

The next sitting is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. on 3 December.
