The European Union (EU) and Sri Lanka convened their 27th Joint Commission in Colombo, reaffirming their commitment to deepening cooperation across governance, trade, security, and environmental issues.
Discussions covered recent reforms, human rights, maritime security, and sustainable development.
Both sides emphasized the importance of upholding international law and exploring new investment opportunities.
The next meeting is scheduled for Brussels in 2027, with leadership from Sri Lanka’s Foreign Affairs Secretary and the EU’s Asia-Pacific chief.
