Electricity supply has been temporarily disrupted in several parts of Sri Lanka, including Colombo, due to a system imbalance in the national grid, the Ministry of Energy said.
Energy Minister Anura Karunathilaka said the disruption was used to stabilise the power system and restoration work is underway.
The National System Operator (Private) Limited has also requested rooftop solar users to switch off systems until 3.00 p.m. today to support grid stability during the Vesak period.
