Frontier Futsal has announced Season 3 of its 4x4 Series, the next edition of its flagship tournament for the local futsal community. Scheduled for Saturday, 28 March, the event will take place from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Athlete 360, Nugegoda.

The tournament will follow a 16-team knockout format and will feature mixed Men’s and Women’s teams. Each match will run for 10 minutes, contributing to four hours of continuous play.

The 4x4 Series forms part of a six-month tour comprising monthly knockout events that emphasise individual skill and quick decision-making. By shifting from the standard 5-a-side format to 4-a-side, Frontier Futsal aims to create a faster, more open style of play inspired by “Volta-style” football.

Torneo by Sofascore serves as the League Partner for this edition, marking Frontier Futsal’s first collaboration with an international brand. The sports management platform is designed to provide data-driven visibility for minor league competitions.

The event also features partnerships with Hypebam as the Energy Partner and Iodex as the Pain Relief Partner.

“Talent was never missing in Sri Lanka; the platform was,” the Frontier Futsal team said. “Our mission is to create a space where players can shine, get recognised, and grow within a community that goes beyond casual play.”

A large turnout of players, supporters and futsal fans is expected. The series also maintains a significant online presence, with a projected digital reach of more than 100,000 across social media, following previous engagement of over 600,000 views on Instagram and 100,000 views on TikTok.
