The Colombo Magistrate’s Court has issued an arrest warrant for former Minister Wimal Weerawansa after he failed to appear before court today (21).

The warrant was issued in connection with a case over the alleged blocking of roads near the United Nations office in Thummulla, Colombo, during a protest in 2016.

The order was issued by Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama.
