The Cabinet has approved the procurement of 270,000 additional vials of the 1-gram Mera injection used to treat severe bacterial infections.

The re-order follows increased demand and builds on a previous order of 900,000 vials placed with Genix Pharma (Pvt) Ltd of Pakistan in December 2024.

The Health Ministry made the request based on recommendations from the High-Level Standing Procurement Committee.
