UNP Leader and former President Ranil Wickremesinghe has extended New Year greetings to Opposition and SJB Leader Sajith Premadasa in a phone conversation. Premadasa has also conveyed his wishes to Wickremesinghe on the first day of this year (2026). The two leaders reportedly had discussed future plans during the telephone conversation.
