A special search operation is underway at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake based on a tip-off from Indian authorities.

According to Police, the tip-off indicated that 6 individuals suspected to be involved in the recent Pahalgam terror attack were on board a flight arriving from Chennai.

Accordingly, the search operation is being carried out jointly by the Police, the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF), and airport security units.
