Doctors Without Borders (MSF) has delivered 1,000 winterized family tents and 1,500 heavy-duty plastic sheets to Sri Lanka’s Disaster Management Centre to support families displaced by Cyclone Ditwah.

The consignment, handed over on December 14, is aimed at providing safe and durable shelter, especially in colder affected regions.

MSF has also distributed 500 relief kits and 500 dry ration kits, and is preparing to provide maternity and dignity kits for displaced families.

MSF said the assistance forms part of its ongoing humanitarian response to floods and landslides caused by the cyclone, which has affected more than 1.8 million people across the country.
