The New Democratic Front (NDF) MP Chamara Sampath Dassanayake was granted bail by the Badulla Magistrate’s Court in a bribery case involving Rs. 1 million. 

Badulla Magistrate Nujith de Silva ordered his release on two surety bails of Rs. 1 million each. 

The case, filed by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC), relates to alleged fund misappropriation during his time as Uva Province Chief Minister in 2016. 

Dassanayake had previously received bail in two related cases in Colombo.
