The Kaikawala Bridge on the Hunnasgiriya–Meemura road has been temporarily closed for repairs, Kandy District Secretary Indika Udawatta announced.

The Road Development Authority (RDA) is conducting excavation and repair work, halting all vehicular traffic.

The public is advised to avoid visiting Meemura for leisure until repairs are completed expected within three days.
