A recent survey has found that 64% of preschool children in Sri Lanka spend more than 30 minutes a day using mobile phones or computers, Health Ministry Secretary Dr. Anil Jasinghe stated.
The survey also found that around 32% of children sleep for less than 10 to 11 hours a day, while about 43% eat meals while using a screen.
The Health Ministry is preparing to introduce a health promotion programme and guidelines for preschool children based on the findings.
