Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath stated that Sri Lanka is ready to deepen cooperation with China based on equality and mutual respect.

Amid rising global uncertainties, the Minister noted that Sri Lanka is keen to expand ties to deliver greater benefits to both countries. 

Herath made the remarks at a special event in Colombo.

He added that Sri Lanka highly appreciates China’s stable economic growth and technological innovation. 

Herath believes China's development, driven by its five-year plans, offers important inspiration for Sri Lanka’s future.
