A fire had broken out in an empty fuel tank which was being repaired at the Sapugaskanda Refinery, last evening (10), the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation said.

Internal fire engines, as well as fire engines from the Fire Brigade were used to douse the fire, the Police stated.

Investigations are underway to ascertain the cause of the fire.
