Minister of Public Security Ananda Wijepala announced in Parliament today (18) that a dedicated cyber crimes division will soon be established within the police.

He said the move has become essential as authorities are now receiving nearly 20 cybercrime-related complaints every day, highlighting the urgent need for strengthened digital security and investigation capacity.
