The Department of Prisons has launched a special investigation into a clash involving alleged organised crime figures Nadun Chinthaka Wickramaratne, alias “Harak Kata”, and Mandinu Padmasiri, alias “Kehelbaddara Padme”.

An Assistant Superintendent of Prisons has been appointed to investigate the incident.

The two suspects, held at Welisara Prison, were involved in a clash yesterday evening (22).

Kehelbaddara Padme sustained injuries and is currently receiving treatment at the Welisara Prison Hospital.
