US Ambassador to Sri Lanka Julie Chung stated that American companies and institutions are actively supporting Sri Lanka’s recovery efforts following Cyclone Ditwah.

In a post on X, she noted that Starlink has donated 145 units and is offering free service to customers through December 2025, while Microsoft and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) are jointly launching a data-collection program to assess cyclone-related damage.

Ambassador Chung said these initiatives reflect strong US partnership and commitment to assisting Sri Lanka during its recovery.
