A 20-year-old youth named Sankalpa was killed and two others injured when shooters on a motorcycle and three-wheeler opened fire at a rented house in Korathota.

The victim (Sankalpa) was allegedly involved in chopping off a woman's hand in November 2025. That woman is reportedly a close associate of the underworld figure ‘Kudu Chathu’.

The attack is a direct hit in the ongoing war between the ‘Kudu Duminda’ and ‘Kudu Chathu’ factions.

Special security has been deployed in Borella to prevent a counter-attack, as police believe Kudu Duminda’s group is already planning a response.
