Minister of State for Finance, Ranjith Siyambalapitiya, announced that in the future, the Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) will be issued simultaneously with the issuance of National Identification Cards (NIC).
Speaking to media yesterday (25), he mentioned that a Cabinet paper is being drafted in this regard.
Consequently, all citizens above the age of 18 will be required to have a TIN along with their NIC.
