Environment Minister Dr. Dammika Patabendi has instructed officials to restore elephant fences damaged by Cyclone Ditwah within one week.

The fences were damaged across Polonnaruwa District, including in the Dimbulagala Forest Monastery area.

The work will be carried out under the Ministry of Environment and the Department of Wildlife Conservation with support from the Civil Defence Force and local groups.
