A high-level review of the Ministry of Digital Economy’s 2025 projects and upcoming 2026 initiatives was held today (19) at the Presidential Secretariat under President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
The discussion focused on progress in promoting a cashless society, including digitalising government services, expanding QR payments, establishing a Cloud centre, and improving broadband access.
The President emphasized the importance of documenting rural informal sector activities for future planning. Key institutions like Sri Lanka CERT, Data Protection Authority, and TRC’s performance and future plans were also reviewed.
Senior officials, including Deputy Minister Eranga Weeraratne and Secretary Nandika Sanath Kumanayake, participated in the meeting.
