The Sri Lanka Nationals 2026, powered by YETI, the country’s most prestigious and highest-ranked domestic tennis championship, will bring together Sri Lanka’s leading tennis talent from August 7 to 23 at the Sri Lanka Tennis Association (SLTA) courts in Colombo.

The details were announced by SLTA officials at a media conference held at the SLTA headquarters at Greenpath on Friday (July 31).

With a proud history spanning more than a century, the Sri Lanka Nationals remains the pinnacle of domestic competitive tennis and one of the most significant events on the country’s tennis calendar. Following the establishment of the Ceylon Lawn Tennis Association in 1915, the championship has evolved into the sport’s premier annual tournament.

Over the years, generations of Sri Lanka’s finest tennis players have competed for national honours, contributing to a distinguished legacy that continues to inspire emerging talent.

The Sri Lanka Nationals 2026, the 111th edition of the championship, has attracted significant interest, with more than 1,000 entries received despite the main draws being limited to 64 players in the respective events. The championship also continues to attract Sri Lankan players living overseas, many of whom return annually to compete in the country’s flagship domestic tournament.

This year’s championship will feature Junior, Open, Senior and Wheelchair Tennis categories, highlighting the depth and diversity of tennis in Sri Lanka.

The Junior Championships will include Boys’ and Girls’ Singles and Doubles events in the Under-12, Under-14, Under-16 and Under-18 age categories, while the Open Championships will feature Men’s Singles, Men’s Doubles, Women’s Singles, Women’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles events.

Prize money will be awarded across all Open events, with the total purse expected to be around Rs 1 million.

The tournament will be conducted under the supervision of Tournament Director Stephen Raj Pathmanathan, with Shehara Madawala serving as the Tournament Referee.

The Sri Lanka Nationals 2026 is powered by YETI Ndurance (Private) Limited as the title sponsor, while Trident Distributors, the agent for Wilson in Sri Lanka, will serve as the official Ball Sponsor. The Wilson US Open ball will be used as the official ball of the championship.
