All arrangements have been finalised to hold the inaugural ‘Battle of Yellows’ cricket match between Gonapinuwala Saralankara Maha Vidyalaya and Ginthota Maha Vidyalaya on Friday (18) and Saturday (19), at the Galle International Cricket Stadium.

This first-ever big match between two reputed schools in the country, Saralankara Maha Vidyalaya in Gonapinuwala and Ginthota Maha Vidyalaya, is expected to be highly competitive, showcasing young talent and sportsmanship at its finest.

Principals of the two schools, H. Sarath Kumara of Ginthota Maha Vidyalaya and Lasantha Lokuge of Saralankara Maha Vidyalaya, stated that this cricket match would serve as a platform to strengthen the bond between the two schools. 

They also expressed confidence that the players of both teams would uphold the spirit of the game and deliver an excellent sporting experience, while extending their best wishes to all participants.

During this year’s encounter, Sanuga Bosada will lead the Saralankara Maha Vidyalaya team, while Deshan Jayasekara will lead the Ginthota Maha Vidyalaya team.

The organising committee warmly invites all present and past students, along with well wishers, to witness and support the success of this inaugural ‘Battle of Yellows’ cricket encounter.
