The National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) says there are no immediate plans to impose water supply restrictions despite the ongoing El Niño conditions.

NWSDB Chairman Chandana Bandara stated that water production will continue at maximum capacity unless the Department of Irrigation or the Mahaweli Authority limits water withdrawals from reservoirs.

He urged the public to use water responsibly and avoid unnecessary wastage as dry weather continues across several parts of the country.
