The Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) has urged the public to stop flying kites near airports, citing growing safety concerns.
According to the SLAF, there has been a noticeable rise in kite flying near airfields, which could lead to accidents involving aircraft.
Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) (Pvt) Ltd. has previously banned kite flying near international airports to protect aircraft and passenger safety.
While kite flying remains a popular pastime across the country, authorities stress that it must not compromise aviation safety.
