The Disaster Management Centre (DMC) has warned that sea areas from Chilaw to Kankesanthurai via Puttalam and Mannar, and Galle to Pottuvil via Hambantota, will be very rough with wind gusts reaching 60-70 kmph. 

Naval and fishing communities are strongly advised to avoid these regions.
