The Ministry of Health has deployed 12 new colposcopy machines to government hospitals to strengthen cervical cancer detection and treatment services across Sri Lanka.
The machines are now operational in hospitals including Anuradhapura, Jaffna, Kandy, Gampaha, Matara and Batticaloa, while six more units are scheduled to be installed next month.
The Health Ministry stated that over Rs. 72 million has been allocated for the first phase of the project, with a further Rs. 42 million set aside for the second phase.
