A committee of retired senior administrative officers has submitted a report to the Speaker of Parliament, Dr Jagath Wickramaratne, proposing a comprehensive restructuring of the parliamentary administration.

The plan includes a revision of the existing salary structure.

The committee recommends that promotions, salary increments, recruitments, and filling of vacancies be implemented under the new framework.

The report has been sent to the Secretary-General of Parliament to formulate proposals, and the recommendations will be presented to the Cabinet of Ministers soon for approval.
