The All Share Price Index (ASPI) of the Colombo Stock Exchange climbed back above the 22,000-point level today(09), gaining 439.46 points, or 2.04%, to close at 22,034.32.

The S&P SL20 also advanced, rising 77.47 points (1.31%) to end at 6,004.11. Turnover for the day reached Rs. 3.88 billion.

The CSE’s main indices had recorded sharp declines following the disruption caused by Cyclone Ditwah, but analysts expect a gradual recovery as economic activity normalises across the country.
