Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has expressed its deepest condolences on the passing of Jayananda Warnaweera, a former national player and administrator.

As a mark of respect, the Sri Lanka National Women’s Team will wear black armbands during today’s(17) ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 match against South Africa. 

The team will also observe a minute of silence before the game at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium, Colombo. 

Warnaweera represented Sri Lanka in ten Test matches and six One-Day Internationals.
