Popular Sri Lankan rapper Amila Kaushan Gunaratne, known as ‘Shan Putha,’ has been arrested alongside two others for illegal firearm possession.

He was taken into custody on 14 March by Homagama Police with a stolen 9mm firearm. His manager, Keshara Ishan, and Police Constable Chandika Srimal, who allegedly stole the weapon from Matara Kotawila Police Station, were also arrested.

The Matara Magistrate ordered all three suspects to be detained for seven days at Kotawila Police Station for further investigation.
