The “Sri Lanka National Anticipatory Action Roadmap 2026–2030” was launched today (June 4) in Colombo to strengthen disaster preparedness and climate resilience through proactive measures.
The event was attended by The Defence Secretary, Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd) as Chief Guest, with the first copy of the roadmap presented by Chathura Liyanarachchige, Director of Preparedness and Planning of the Disaster Management Centre (DMC).
Addressing the event, the Defence Secretary highlighted the importance of the “Early Warning, Early Action” approach to improve disaster response and reduce risks to lives and property through timely preventive action.
