Sri Lanka extends USD 1 mn humanitarian assistance to Nepal

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has directed the Government to provide USD 1 million in humanitarian assistance to Nepal following devastating floods and landslides.


The funds will support immediate relief and humanitarian assistance for communities affected by the disaster.


Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath also conveyed Sri Lanka’s condolences and support during a telephone conversation with Nepalese Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal.


The Government stated that Sri Lanka will continue to work with Nepal and explore further ways to support relief and recovery efforts.
