The Apeksha Cancer Hospital in Maharagama unveiled Sri Lanka's first Government-run Bone Marrow and Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant (HSCT) Unit for children with cancer today (2).
Funded by the Ruhunu Maha Kataragama Devalaya and built with Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) labor, the unit is part of a newly completed four-story ward complex.
The transplant unit, located on the top two floors, offers advanced care for children, providing a critical lifeline for families in need.
SLAF has pledged long-term maintenance to ensure continued support.
